Agave Flower

Today is National Tequila Day. No kidding. We can't make this shit up...but we sure as hell can celebrate it! We've recently acquired another bottle of Casamigos tequila. This stuff is no joke. Yes, it's spearheaded by the infamous George Clooney (he gave us the bottle personally of course), but it's more than just another celebrity booze. They took amazing care in creating a tequila that was worthy of putting ol' George's name on. They slow-roast the agave piñas for 72 hours in brick ovens (many steam them for 7 hours), use a proprietary yeast and slow ferment - and all of that is before they even distill the stuff!

While we actually think it's best just sipped neat, we didn't think you would need a recipe for that, so we've whipped up the Agave Flower, named for the floral addition of St-Germain elderflower liqueur.

equipment:

cocktail mixing glass
bar spoon
strainer
rocks glass

ingredients:

1.5 oz Casamigos Ultra-Premium Blanco Tequila
.5 oz orange liqueur
.5 oz Rose's Lime
.5 oz St-Germain elderflower liqueur
pinch sea salt
spoonfull of Amarena cherry juice
marena cherries and lime for garnish

method:

In a cocktail mixing glass with ice, add all ingredients except garnish. Stir for 20-30 seconds to chill and strain into a chilled rocks glass with a few cubes. Garnish with a wheel of fresh lime and a few Amarena cherries.
