The Earl of Grey

Said to be named after Lord Charles Grey, a British Prime Minister in the 1830's, Earl Grey tea is black tea flavored with oil extracted from the bergamot orange

This 'orange' is a funny thing really. The size of an orange, but yellowish green in color, the fruit itself is actually inedible. But that prized oil from its peel is spectacularly flavorful and used in more than just tea.

Luck for us, Square One Organic Spirits decided to use it in their vodka! With Square One Bergamot, the vibrant taste of bergamot is layered with the essential oils of pressed mandarin, navel and tangerine oranges and finished with the botanical essences of ginger, coriander and juniper. Unfiltered, the essential oils stay in the bottle and showcase the exceptional fruit, floral and herbal qualities of the other botanicals. Square One Bergamot is a surprisingly complex, yet not overwhelming. It begs to be made into creative cocktails - like this one!
